Is Animal Communication
Really Possible?
We all
know our animal companions try to communicate with us each and every day.
Every day we wish we could hear what it is they are really trying to say.
The good news is we ALL can! All it takes
is an open mind and lots of practice.
Animals speak to us in a language we have long
forgotten, a language called telepathy. The definition of telepathy is
the long distance transference of thoughts, feelings and emotions from one
being to another without physical contact.
In our day to day lives
we experience telepathy without recognizing it. How many time have you
reached for the phone and had an inner "knowing" who was on the other
end? That is telepathy. We are receiving the pictures or feelings from the
person on the other end of the phone line.
Our animal companions send us pictures all day long.
Often times there is a thought that pops in your head about your animal and
you instantly negate it by saying it couldn't have come from them. I
would ask you the next time that happens to acknowledge your pet for that
message. Once you do that it will help open up a clear line of communication
between the two of you.
I would also suggest to you to begin to taking classes
in animal communication or reading up on the subject. One of the best
beginning books written was by one of the first pioneers in animal
communication, Penelope Smith. In her book, "Animal Talk", Penelope
helps you to begin to open up to the world of animal communication. It
is a wonderful investment in creating a closer bond to you and your
companion.
Next month we will further explore the world of animal
communication!
Healing Touch for Animals
There are many exciting and progressive holistic
care health modalities available for our animal companions these days. One
of these modalities is Healing Touch for Animals. As a HTA practitioner I
can attest to how well our animal companions respond to it.
HTA is a bio-field energy-medicine modality
combining philosophies, techniques and applications to promote energy
balance and healing of our animals. The HTA program introduces you to
holistic concepts that assist with injuries, illness, surgeries, wound
healing, behavioral problems and stress related issues.
HTA uses bio-field
therapies - recognized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) - to
integrate, balance and clear the energy body. It works by releasing
endorphins to establish a deeper relaxation and state of being, allowing the
body to function at a greater level. By allowing muscles to relax,
circulation is increased, sending more oxygen, nutrients, and hormones into
the body to support healing. Please see the chart below.
Techniques taught in HTA Workshops are designed to
enhance the healing process and do not replace traditional medicine or
veterinary health care. The techniques promote a beneficial way to blend
holistic health care and traditional medicine.

In the next Spirit Paws newsletter we will discuss
in more detail why energy healing modalities are important not only for our
pets but for us as well.

The importance
of a good diet

How important
is diet anyway?

Food is one of the simplest things to
start with if you don't already have them on a good diet. It is my
philosophy that I would rather pay extra now for good food then pay a
veterinarian later for health issues from feeding them low grade food. Dogs
and cats should live well into their 20's, yet most die between 13 to 15
years old...WHY? Basically if you are feeding your pet commercially produced
food you are feeding them poison.
Despite all the appealing descriptions
of pet food ads with their claims of providing "complete and balanced
nutrition," if you're not extra cautious, you may end up feeding your
pet chicken heads, road kills, spoiled or moldy grains, cancerous material
cut from slaughterhouse animals, tissue high in hormone or
pesticide residue. Unbelievably even
shredded Styrofoam packaging, metal ID tags and minced flea collars have
been found. These things of course will not be listed on the can but you can
be sure they are in there if they are lower grade foods. A good website to
check out for more information is
www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com. This
website has a lot of terrific information on it.
There are many books now that also discuss the pet food industry as a
whole and what has been found in regards to the quality of the food being
produced. It is up to us as good caretakers to research and provide the
best care possible, and that includes food.
More on the benefits of a good diet will be discussed
in future newsletters.

In upcoming issues I would like to include your story about
your animal companion who has crossed over and come back for a visit. Many
times our animal companions show us signs that they are still with us. Have
you had such an experience? Email me at
sherry@spiritpaws.com with your story. Each issue will include several
stories to support the idea that our pets visit and comfort us even after
their passing.
Visit the Spirit Paws website to find out what
workshops are coming up and for events where Sherry will be appearing. Also
check out the links page to find many interesting websites. |
